[VRChat] Confirmation of AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT and 9070 operation
Shader Operation
We compared about 200 works of Shader Fes 2021 on the Radeon RX 9070 XT and 7900 XTX and found no difference in shader rendering.
There was one work with what appeared to be unexpected behavior and one work with fine noise, which was not present when we tested in 2022 and could be due to changes in VRChat and Unity updates. We also checked the 9070 XT with PICO 4 and the 7900 XTX with VIVE Pro 2, so we did not see any differences in shader rendering due to the HMD.
HMD Operation
PICO 4 was confirmed to work with wired PICO Connect and 90Hz and played comfortably; AMD Software version is 25.3.2 (24.30.31.04) downloaded from AMD official website, PICO OS version is 5.12.0.S, Connect is V10.4.5, SteamVR version is 2.9.6.
Quest 2 was confirmed to run at 90Hz with Air Link, Steam Link, and VirtualDesktop, all of which were played comfortably. The version of each application is the latest version.
We are inquiring about the VIVE Pro 2 as the 5K quality setting in the VIVE Console settings is grayed out and only usable up to 3K, with occasional noise on the screen.
They released a dedicated version of SteamVR when the RX 7000 series was first released.
Known Issues.
As a known defect in AMD's release notes, using SteamVR may cause system crashes due to memory leaks; it is recommended to disable motion smoothing in the SteamVR settings.
Please make sure that it is also disabled in the SteamVR settings under “Video” and “Video Settings per Application”. If the motion smoothing item does not appear or the settings do not reflect well, you will need to rewrite the settings file. Please refer to the article by Pikepike for a detailed explanation of how to edit and change the settings file.(Please use your browser's translator)

Playing games at 80Hz or 90Hz refresh rates with some VR headsets may cause stuttering. We recommend changing the refresh rate as a temporary workaround.
